Life is simply food!

What have I been up to today? Well, I started off my day with a lecture in economics, fairly interesting, and then ate lunch with a Scandinavian friend of mine. We ate lunch at a cosy and wonderful little cafe called SimplyLife. The environment is absolutely lovely at this cafe as well as their bread and cakes! When I visited them for the first I wanted to try all their different kinds of cakes, yummie! They serve food as well, I recommend the pizza with parma ham and tomato… 😉 And do NOT miss out on the dessert! Hope you all had a good Tuesday!

The sun goes down

Ni Hao everyone!

I cannot believe that I am now attending the second semester at uni, feels unbelievable and amazing at the same time! 🙂 I really like my life right now, I have so much positive things happening that I am so grateful for. Meeting a lot of friends, experiencing a lot of new things as well as enjoying life to the fullest! 😉

Nevertheless, in HK and even more maybe in China; religion, harmony and keeping a calm mind is important elements for the majority of the population. Being influenced by this, I myself have started wondering over life and the purpose of life. Many locals here use meditation as a way to escape the outer world and find some calmness in their life. I discussed this matter with a local that meditates every day circa 15-30 minutes. We came to the conclusion that every human being needs a way to escape the outer world and every person has their own way to do that. I myself am a very active person that often gets restless, therefore; my way of relaxing is reading books, watching movies or go running. Furthermore, we also discussed how you should look on life and events taking place in your life. I am in favor of planning and organizing things before hand and like to have some kind of structure in my life. Without having some kind of control, I can easily panic; in other words I am a bit of a control-freak. 🙂 But my local friend on the other hand is the complete opposite. He believes that everything happens for a reason, which I can agree on as well, but he also strongly believes in just following the path laid out in front of him. He does not see the point of planning beforehand or deciding to meet with a friend some days in advance. When meeting with him, you decide that one or possibly two hours before. The best way, theoretically speaking, I believe would be to have a balance between these two. Sometimes planning is a brilliant idea, but sometimes I guess that going with the flow is just as good! 😉

Aung San Suu Kyi

One of my role models is the brave, strong and stubborn peace maker from Burma/Myanmar, Aung San Suu Kyi. I saw the biographical movie “The Lady” yesterday, I am can nothing else than get inspired by her and her struggle for peace. See the movie and learn more about this fascinating woman who sacrificed herself for her country.

Wedges from Paul Smith

When I first saw these pair of wedges from Paul Smith I knew that these were meant for decorating my feet! 😉 I truly love them, mostly maybe because they remind me of the shoes Rachel McAdams wore in one of my favorite movies, “The notebook”. I also really like the dreamy lovely pattern. I look forward to wearing them! 🙂

Best of Today

Best of Today:

1. Cute leather ballerina shoes from the Swiss brand Bally, they will be perfect for spring!

2. The movie featuring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow from 1974, “The Great Gatsby”. The movie  is based the classic novel written by F. Scott Fitzgerald. If you have not read it, read it!!! And if you do not feel like reading the book, see the movie! 😉 Btw, a new version of the movie is soon coming out with Leonardo DiCaprio, I am so excited to see it!

3. A gift from Anteprima for being a loyal customer!

4. A wool military green sweater from Escada, lovely material, super warm and cosy! I will live in this during colder times!

5. A lovely little pink clutch from the Italian brand Anteprima, I really like their bags and clothes!

6. January issue 2013 for Elle Singapore, some entertainment for lazy days and inspiration for fashion 2013! 😉

Goals for 2013!

Ni Hao!

I can not understand nor believe that 2013 now has begun! It feels like I celebrated the new year of 2012 just recently. Time flies away and suddenly we see that the most important thing we should try to do is to capture and embrace all possibilities we get. Furthermore, to have goals I believe is important. And the start of a new year always make me reflect on my goals and ambitions for the upcoming year. What goals do you have for 2013? I myself am aiming for a good academic year at my university where I hope to gain more knowledge, in addition; I always try to become a better human being where my good sides dominate and my less charming sides are improved. It is hard being a human being, but remember that you are not alone thinking it is challenging. Besides, I also hope to expand my blog and become better at writing interesting posts for you! Bring it on, 2013!

Let´s make 2013 a awesome year! 😉
