The sun goes down
Ni Hao everyone!
I cannot believe that I am now attending the second semester at uni, feels unbelievable and amazing at the same time! 🙂 I really like my life right now, I have so much positive things happening that I am so grateful for. Meeting a lot of friends, experiencing a lot of new things as well as enjoying life to the fullest! 😉
Nevertheless, in HK and even more maybe in China; religion, harmony and keeping a calm mind is important elements for the majority of the population. Being influenced by this, I myself have started wondering over life and the purpose of life. Many locals here use meditation as a way to escape the outer world and find some calmness in their life. I discussed this matter with a local that meditates every day circa 15-30 minutes. We came to the conclusion that every human being needs a way to escape the outer world and every person has their own way to do that. I myself am a very active person that often gets restless, therefore; my way of relaxing is reading books, watching movies or go running. Furthermore, we also discussed how you should look on life and events taking place in your life. I am in favor of planning and organizing things before hand and like to have some kind of structure in my life. Without having some kind of control, I can easily panic; in other words I am a bit of a control-freak. 🙂 But my local friend on the other hand is the complete opposite. He believes that everything happens for a reason, which I can agree on as well, but he also strongly believes in just following the path laid out in front of him. He does not see the point of planning beforehand or deciding to meet with a friend some days in advance. When meeting with him, you decide that one or possibly two hours before. The best way, theoretically speaking, I believe would be to have a balance between these two. Sometimes planning is a brilliant idea, but sometimes I guess that going with the flow is just as good! 😉
