Mr Red

Dear readers,

How are you feeling today? I have had a good day today, I have for the first time in my life visited a karaoke bar! And it was awesome! 😀 I went to a bar called Mr Red in Causeway Bay at lunch time since it then was possible to eat lunch at the karaoke bar as well as sing. The service was great and the food was also good, furthermore it was cheap. In total, I paid 70 HK dollars for the visit.  I was afraid that there would be a lack of English songs before the visit but it turned out that they had more English songs that I could ever imagine. I highly recommend you to pay a visit to this place 😉

Pasta Love

Ni hao!

If you are a pasta lover just as me, these three following delicious pasta dishes you cannot miss when in Hong Kong! All of them are just as delicious as they look! Feels like you are in Italy all of a sudden 😉

If you are looking for a fabulous restaurant located in the basement in the heart of LKF serving an amazing Papardelle bolognese with homemade pasta and a tasty bolognese sauce, Lily and Bloom is the place you should go to. The steaks and meat dishes are supposed to be delicious here as well.

Another favorite of mine, the seafood pasta I tasted when visiting the lovely cute and calm Agnes B Le Pain Grille in Festival Walk. This restaurant is actually French so all dishes have a touch of French cuisine but this dish feels very Italian though. Nonetheless, the food was delicious and the taste from the seafood accompanied with garlic was divine.

Last but not least, The lobster pasta served at Ristorante Joia is just fantastic also. The taste of chili with lobster and tomato works perfectly together with the pasta.

To sum up ,if you choose any of these three dishes I believe you wont be disappointed since they all makes me wanna scream; Fantastico! 😉

HK Flower Show 2013

In the end of March, I visited the HK Flower Show 2013. There I saw amazing flower creations and arrangements made by skillful flower experts. I was lucky enough to see creations looking like human beings as well as butterflies made completely out of flowers, really cool and impressive! The show is only during a limited period of time and unfortunately I think that period is over for this year, but I think the show will be just as beautiful next year! So if you have the chance, take a look at the show then! It only cost around 10 HK Dollars and was a really nice experience!

Disneyland Hong Kong!

Hey! To celebrate the new year of 2013, I visited the fantastic Disneyland here in HK and it was amazing! I was like a kid in a candy shop and it really felt like stepping into another world for a day! We enjoyed the playful and cheerful parade, we went on a boat adventure, we saw a Mickey Mouse 3D movie (so good!) and we concluded the day with a Mickey Mouse musical. It truly was a really good day!!! The entrance price for persons over the age of 11 is 399 HK Dollars and that includes all the activities in the theme park. It was definitely value for the money! And I am already excited for another visit!! 😉

Christmas Break!

Ni Hao!

How are you all doing? I took a Christmas break from everything for while now. I felt I needed that after this semester but now I feel ready to get back on track! Did you have a good Christmas? I spent mine in the Fiji Islands, enjoying some quality time with my family and relaxing with a book whilst admiring the view. It was a very beautiful island with spectacular water and beaches! 😉 Very nice!

Harbour City

When visiting Hong Kong, Harbour City is absolutely a shopping mall you need to visit! This is one of the biggest shopping malls here in HK, where you can find basically everything! They offer all the nice luxurious brands such as Mulberry, D&G, Louis Vuitton etc. but they also have shops providing less luxurious clothes and items to a much more affordable price. In total, they have 700 stores, so you can easily spend a whole day here if you like! They also have a big city super, grocery store, with a lot of international food, for example the Swedish “knäckebröd” Wasa! The shopping mall is located in Tsim Sha Tsui.

“Frukost” (Swedish for Breakfast) is the best flavor!!!

Ocean Park!

View from the cable car

Yesterday I went the most beautiful and exciting theme park here in Hong Kong, Ocean Park, and it was such a fun day! The theme Park is located in the Hong Kong Islands and from the metro station admiralty it is possible to take a bus. The trip from admiralty takes about 15-20 minutes. In the theme park you can find different kind of animals (penguins and pandas!!!), a big aquarium and some roller-coasters. The Park is built on two separate places and between these two spots you can either take the cable car or the train. On one of the cable car stations you can also find a most lovely cafe, “The Terrace Cafe”. Here you can enjoy one of the most spectacular views over Stanley and the sea coast. They also have nice cooling fruit drinks! In total, the entrance ticket to Ocean Park cost me around 300 HK dollars and then the bus trip both ways is included. It is worth a visit!

The aquarium was very impressive actually! Here it is possible to enjoy all kind of fishes, sharks and rocks. It was even possible to walk in a tunnel trough the water and therefore watching the sharks from underneath 🙂

In this theme it is possible to travel from the world under the water surface to the North Pole 🙂

Stanley

If you feel like escaping the big city in Hong Kong, the small, peaceful and tranquil village called Stanley is the place to go! You can go here either by bus or cab (the taxi cost around 100 HK dollars from Central). Stanley is named after Lord Stanley ( a secretary during the period when Hong Kong still was a british colony) and is located in the southern parts of Hong Kong.  It takes about 30 minutes with cab from Central to Stanley. Whilst visiting this little cute village I recommend taking a look at the cosy market as well as walking along Stanley Main Street on the beachfront. On the market you can find beautiful paintings, silk products, pearls, clothes, scarves and “sunbrellas”. Stanley also offers a lot of different restaurants and cafes, all located against the water to offer the perfect view of the sea.
